Description
The Data Resource Administrator is responsible for overseeing the governance and dissemination of University Advancement (UA) alumni and stakeholder data for which we steward. This includes working closely with campus units to define and document data governance and access rules to ensure data alignment for UA and campus use. She/he will be an Advancement Subject Matter Expert (SME) and the primary data steward for the University Advancement Constituency master domain and Customer 360 Views.
Working closely with the Assistant Vice President for Advancement Information Systems and Donor Strategy, she/he will provide functional and technical leadership of data governance initiatives such as developing and maintaining data glossaries and metadata repositories, facilitating cross-functional communications regarding data usage and assist with data issues to a resolutions.
She/he is also a highly accomplished professional with demonstrated success at managing and delivering on major master data projects and governance for complex organizations.
Qualifications
Knowledge equivalent to that which would normally be acquired by completing one or two years of post-bachelor degree work, such as a Master’s degree in a related discipline, such as Business, Management Information Systems or Data Sciences
5 - 8 years’ work experience or related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience with in data management in an environment with large, complex databases.
Experience with master data management tools (Informatica, Data Stage, etc.)
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Additional Requirements
Experience with working in an Alumni/Development organization in higher education
Effective communicator and collaborator working in a cross-functional environment
Strong project and time management skills with attention to details.
Ability to lead and influence non-hierarchical, cross-functional work groups to drive to consensus on definitions and data usage
Strong knowledge of best practices in data management
Experience around defining and managing data related processes
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Desktop Tools (Word, Excel, etc.)
Advance use of analyst tools (Informatica, Data Stage, etc.)
Aptitude for accurately manipulating large amounts of data
High level of attention to detail, and a passion for organization and accuracy.
Highly detail oriented, with an ability to ladder up to conceptual applications
Exceptional communication skills: listening, interpersonal, verbal and written
May require valid vehicle operator's license where needed to perform duties of the position.
Other skills and/or physical abilities required to perform duties of the position.
