Michigan State University Advancement is now seeking an Office Assistant III.  The Office Assistant will serve as a primary personal communicator, with donors and alumni about their attendance at events and meetings produced by University Advancement, to maximize effective interface with administrators, fundraising and engagement staff, and promote philanthropic giving to Michigan State University.

Qualifications

Required:

Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in maintaining accounting ledgers and/or experience in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and/or desktop publishing software. The job may require knowledge of presentation and web page software and/or technical training related to the field of employment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired: 

One to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work in customer service.   One to three years of experience completing financial transactions, including processing and reconciling of transactions, including credit cards.   Ability to communicate competently and confidentially with customers and colleagues in person, verbally and in writing, and via email and on the phone.   Competence in Microsoft Office word processing, spreadsheet, database, and desktop publishing software, including Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.   Associates degree preferred.  Experience working in EBS finance system.   Minimum typing speed of 65 wpm. Competent traveler.
