Description

The Associate Director of Business Analytics will be responsible for maintaining a solid foundation in university advancement business processes and statistical models as defined by leadership in University Advancement. The position guides the gathering and analyses of data using appropriate statistical methods, interpretation and visualization of outcomes that address clearly defined business objectives. This position will perform data analysis, develop algorithms and predictive models, and deliver reports for a broad audience. This position will apply algorithms and modeling tools to a variety of data assets and develop critical solutions for multiple areas of the business.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

The job requires: knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing one or two years of post-bachelor degree work, such as a Master's in Educational Administration, Statistics, Economics or Research Methodology; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in research design, statistical methods and knowledge of computer hardware and software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

DESIRED

  • Bachelor’s, in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Science, Engineering or other related discipline.
  • 3+ years of business experience in statistical modeling for the purpose of building business solutions
  • Strong experience building logistic and linear regression solutions, knowledge of alternative modeling methodologies preferred .
  • Strong experience managing data acquisition and data organization required for the purposes of building statistical models .
  • Strong project management experience desired; leading statistical resources on projects highly preferred
  • Ability to clearly present statistical solutions in business terms (in a non-statistical nature).
  • Capacity to create new ideas for statistical solutions to address customers' business issues.
  • Expertise in utilizing statistical software package(s) (e.g., SPSS, R, data query tools, SQL, Tableau).
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Familiarity with Ellucian’s Advance system, preferred.
  • Familiarity with Cognos system, preferred.
  • Experience working with complex, relational databases.
  • 2+ years relevant experience with a proven track record of leveraging data analysis to drive significant business impact preferred.
  • Above average capabilities with basic analysis tools of Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Word, & Access).
  • Ability to perform thorough analysis of complex data, draw sound conclusions, and devise actionable strategies. Expertise in predictive modeling and scoring. Knowledge/experience in some/all of the following: Linear and Multivariate Regression, Logistic Regression, Boosting, Decision Trees, and Time Series Analysis.
  • SQL proficiency a plus. Excellent project management skills.
  • Must be able to organize and manage projects independently.
