Description
The MSU Alumni Association’s mission is to build lifelong enrichment for our nearly 500,000 alumni throughout the world. We work to celebrate traditions, strengthen the Spartan network, provide experiences that enrich people professionally and personally, and encourage service to MSU and the communities in which Spartans live and work.
The Marketing CRM Training and Support team is responsible for developing the platform roadmap for the UA marketing CRM (currently iModules). The team encourages use of the platform, supports the colleges, units, and alumni communities who are operating in the platform, and builds out and supports a broader user group across University Advancement and the MSU Alumni Association’s alumni communities. Reporting to the Director of Marketing CRM Training and Support, the Marketing CRM Program Assistant is responsible for communicating with alumni volunteers and staff administrators to assist them with digital communication; communicating with end users to assist them in updating biographic information, registering for events, and changing email preferences; and working with team members to provide a positive end user experience and impactful digital communication for constituents, while also improving the accuracy and amount of data for administrators. This is a customer-service job that requires excellent communication skills, an eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple projects.
This is an off-date position funded for one year from date of hire with possible extension.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The job requires: knowledge normally acquired through a high school education with course work in word processing, typing, shorthand, and grammar; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in word processing, spreadsheet and database software; editing, composing correspondence; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong customer service skills. Ability to work and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with a broad range of internal and external constituents including alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff and other friends of the university.
- Knowledge of digital marketing, including email marketing, content management, and/or event management.
- Familiarity with higher education, alumni outreach and volunteer engagement.
- Strong collaboration skills. A team player with a passion for outstanding customer service, good interpersonal and active listening skills.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and planning skills as well as superior attention to detail.
- A keen eye for detail, strong conceptual skills and the ability to identify inappropriate or non-compliant use of Michigan State University brand assets.
- The ability to work independently, solve problems and handle confidential information.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- May require valid vehicle operator's license where needed to perform duties of the position.
- Other skills and/or physical abilities required to perform duties of the position.
- This position requires, or will require prior to the completion of the probationary period: knowledge of basic personal computer terminology and operations, and the ability to use e-mail and the Internet.
- Will require extended travel flexibility.
- This position requires some availability on nights and weekends.
